The Lincoln County Assessor's Office is looking to bring on an Appraiser Trainee to their team.
The person in this position will train with their supervisor and appraisal staff and follow a structured continuing education program to learn necessary appraisal concepts with a goal of obtaining registration as a Property Appraiser by the State of Oregon within one year. They will also assist in appraisal of urban and rural residential properties.
This role is also responsible for providing public service relating to property assessment information and representing the Assessor’s Office in Property Value Appeals Board hearings.
We are hiring an Appraiser 1 or an Appraiser Trainee.

Minimum Education Level High School Diploma / GED

Substitution Note: Any combination of experience or education equivalent to two years in a field that would demonstrate the capacity to work as an appraiser as determined by the County. Examples include property appraisal, public or business administration, real estate, finance, civil engineering, urban planning, or other related experience.
Certifications
Specifics: Certification as a Registered Appraiser by the Oregon Department of Revenue is required within 1 year of hire and must be maintained by continuing education. ORS 308.010; Signing a Certificate of Confidentiality is required under ORS 308.413(3).
Driver’s License
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
Desirable Qualifications: Associates degree or higher level of education in related coursework preferred: property appraisal, real estate technology, engineering or forestry technology, business administration, or other related field. 1 – 2 years’ experience in an Oregon County Office preferred.
